These were the words of the Controller General of Customs Service (NCS) Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) in a commendation letter which was sent to the command during the weekend.
While commending the Apapa Area Command Controller, Comptroller Mallanta Ibrahim Yusuf for showing integrity over the seizure of container No. GESU 6642430 (1×40 FT) containing 1,427 cartons of unregistered pharmaceuticals products.
The commendation letter which was signed by Comptroller K.A Olusemire, on behalf of he Comptroller General was quoted as saying: “also commended all officers of the Command for all their relentless efforts
In what he described as ‘a sterling performance’, CGC Ali praised Mallanta for not compromising, on the interception and arrest of the contraband cargoes in which fraudulent importers hàve also be using to distrole Nigerian economy.
The intercepted container was laden with 144 cartons of 200mg Tramadol tablets; one carton of 100mg Tramadol tablets, 958 cartons of Septrin (Co-Trimoxazole), 180 cartons of CAC – 100 Plus Effervescent Tablets and 144 cartons of Oxytocin Injection.
