The Southwest Governors Forum chaired by Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is organising a Security Summit at the instance of Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde on Tuesday to discuss how to tackle the growing insecurity challenges in the southwest states.
Akeredolu decried upsurge of criminality particularly the alleged kidnapping, raping and armed robbery by herdsmen
The governor maintained that ranching would be encouraged arguing that cow could hardly identify maize, rice and other crops from grasses during grazing
Taking his sermon from first king, Chapter nineteen, verses nine and fourteen, the presbyter and Gbogi Methodist cathedral administrator, The Very Reverend Olufemi Adeleke encouraged Nigerian leaders to find a lasting solution to the frequent herdsmen attacks in the region
Also preaching from Proverbs Chapter fourteen verse thirty-four, the general overseer of the prayer centre, Prophet Samson Oluwamodede who said God would turn the nation around if the citizens could shun iniquity also called for prayers against insecurity
The services were attended by political, religious and traditional rulers including the Déjì of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, Oniwo of Iwo, Osun State, Oba Adewale Akanbi and many other important dignitaries.
