President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today visit Akure, the Ondo State capital in continuation of President Buhari’s reelection campaign.
The president and the APC big wigs are expected to address APC faithful and President’s admirers at the rally.
Already, Akure streets have been adorned with Buhari’s posters and bill boards from the Airport, Eleyewo running through Oba-Ile dual carriage way to Akure metropolis.
Meanwhile Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State, will announce his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) today.
Oluboyo a former Commissioner for Agriculture under Mimiko, was appointed the Deputy Governor on April 27, 2016 after Alhaji Ali Olanusi was impeached by members of the Ondo State House of Assembly over allegations of gross misconduct.
Ebony Herald gathered that Oluboyo will be announcing his defection alongside other aides of former Governor Mimiko at the MKO Demeocracy Park today.
We also gathered that no less than 2,000 members of the PDP, the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and Action Democratic Party (ADP) would also be joining the APC today in Akure.
Intermittent radio and television jingles are also on by various groups and individuals to sentisize residents of Buhari’s visit.
Ondo State Governor Oluwatotimi Akeredolu and Governor Fayemi of Ekiti State are expected to receive Buhari and his entourage at Akure airport.
During the visit, the President is expected to pay homage to the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade at his palace and meet with some top members of the APC.
