Youths across all political parties in OKEIGBO in ileoluji/ Okeigbo local government area of Ondo State have protested against what they termed political marginalisation between Okeigbo and Ileoluji.
The protesters who in large numbers hijacked the All Progressive Congress meeting recently with various placards were asking for the ticket to produce the next representative for the Ondo State House of Assembly.
They all proceeded to the residence of their paramount ruler, Oba Lawrence Oluwole Babajide, Bamigbala where they restated their demands
In his goodwill message, Oba Lawrence Babajide urged them to be law abiding citizens and not to take law into their hands.
Oba Oluwole also assured them of quick intervention while advising party leaders to be self less in services and honest in their representation.
In their individual remarks, the president of Okeigbo Youth parliament, Mr Samson Agboola and a house of assembly aspirant under the platform of People Democratic Party in Okeigbo, Hon omojadegbe Alexander commended the peaceful protest, saying the continuous representation of House of Assembly from Ileoluji Okeigbo constituency by Ileoluji alone is marginalisation and truncation of peace in democracy.
Speaking on behalf of other five aspirants from Okeigbo, Barr Fiola said the system of choosing people to occupy elective positions in ileoluji/ Okeigbo has been mutually rotational between the two principal communities for long which is totally against continuity in office.
Barr. Fiola called on constituted authority to intervene in the matter.
According to Barr Fiola, Alhaji Folagbade Adetoro Gbemibade from OKEIGBO handed over to Hon Bimbo Fajolu in 2015, “nobody has represented Okeigbo constituency in two terms including the position of local government Chairman in the area. We hereby call on traditional institution and Ondo State government to look into this matter. We are peace lovers and custodians of law in Okeigbo. Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu should help us.
