The Nigeria Labour Congress has called off the strike it embarked on Thursday, September 26.
The announcement was made by the union president, Comrade Ayuba Waba on Sunday, in Abuja while briefing newsmen.
The union is agitating for the implementation of a new national minimum wage by the federal government.
The presidency has on Saturday said it is stepping up efforts to convince labour unions to suspend the industrial action.
Workers are to return to work on October 2 after the public holiday, while those on essential duties are to return to work immediately.
