Impeached Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun led faction has suspended newly elected Speaker, Olamide George, his deputy and 13 other members of the assembly.
At the resumed sitting presided over by the embattled Speaker, the House announced the suspension of the 15 lawmakers for alleged ‘unruly’ conducts.
This is just as thugs numbering 100 invaded the Ondo State House of Assembly complex Friday, to attack lawmakers who carried out the impeachment with two of them sustained serious injuries while their vehicles were also vandalised.
Our reporter gathered that Assembly staff, journalists including AIT cameraman Abiodun Taiwo who was serious injured and some security agents were not spared in the bloody attack carried out in favour of the impeached the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun and his Deputy, Iroju Ogundeji.
At a resumed sitting of ten members of the House in the Chamber impeached Speaker said he remains the authentic Speaker.
The embattled speaker noted that the fifteen members action of his impeachment could amount to truncating the existing peace in the state.
Mr Oleyelogun however announced the suspension of the fifteen members indefinitely.
The Oleyelogun’s faction has adjourned sitting of the Assembly indefinitely.

Members accused the impeached speaker of gross misconduct.
Former Speaker, Jumoke Akindele was appointed acting speaker in order for members to elect a new leadership.
Olamide George representing Akure North was elected speaker, while Abimbola Fajolu from Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo constituency emerged as Deputy Speaker.
The thugs are allegedly members of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers, NURTW who attacked assembly members as policemen led by the Commissioner of police, Gbenga Adeyanju and other security operatives watched the thugs helplessly.
