Two men suspected to be part of a gang of ritualists killing aged women in Akoko area of Ondo state and clinically removing their breasts and other sensitive organs including private parts, have met their waterloo on Tuesday.
They were apprehended by some youths in Arigidi Akoko following an attempt to kill another woman in thesame town where an 80year-old grandmother was gruesomely murdered last week.
An eyewitness said, “as ritual killings became very frequent at Arigidi, Ikare and other Akoko suburb, where about five women had been killed and their brests and other private parts removed, nemesis caught up with two men early Tuesday morning at Arigidi when a woman raised alarm that a man came to her room attempting to kill her but ran away when she raised alarm”.
“Immediately the youths in Arigidi Akoko organised a search team and caught the two men in a bush at the back of Akoko Anglican grammar school Arigidi Akoko and were taken to the palace of Zaki of Arigidi, Oba Yisa Olanipekun”.
According to our source, “ Large crowd gathered at the palace to see those behind the scourge of the wicked acts that had created fear in the minds of Akoko women from going out in the nights or early morning for church and mosque services”
One of the two men confessed to be an Ilorin man while the second is from Oka Akoko, both men have been handed over to security agents to prevent jungle justice on them and for further investigation.
It would be recalled that one iya Dunsi a 50yr old woman and another 80yr old madam kojusola Mogaji were brutally killed and their breasts clinically removed within an interval of two weeks at Arigidi Akoko, similar incidents were recorded in Ikare and Okeagbe-Akoko last year.
