On the 23rd of August 2018 at the accient town of Azare Bauchi State of Nigeria, executives and members of the WAZOBIA enlightenment forum Bauchi appointed Alhaji Mahmud Yayale Ahmed as its National Grand-Patron.
The conferment was done by the National Chairman of the forum, Chief Mathew A. Osochukuwu.
In his speech, Chief Osochukuwu explained that the forum is a non- governmental organization formed to promote peace, unity and social development in Nigeria.
The WAZOBIA leader stressed further that, having watched various Government in Nigeria over the years and the various efforts made towards building a peaceful and united great Nation, we discover that there are still gaps to be filled which government alone cannot do, as responsible citizens, we decided not seat and complain but to make useful contributions as a cementing factor for sustainable peace and development of our Nation.
Alhaji Yayale was born in the town of Shira in southern Azare, Bauchi State, his father Ahmadu, was an Islamic Scholar and a farmer.
Yayale attended Shira Primary School, and Government Secondary School Azare, (kwaranga) and later proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, Kaduna State, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 1976 and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration in 1981. He completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) service in 1977.
He has been awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree in Law by the University of Abuja and a honorary Doctor of Letters by Bayero University Kano state.
Yayale joined the Bauchi State Civil Service in 1977. In 1982 he became deputy secretary to the state’s Ministry of Animal Health and Forestry Resources, in 1983, he became acting permanent secretary to the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives.
In 1986, he joined the federal civil service, holding various positions in the Ministries of Internal Affairs and of Education. He was a member of the 1988 Ministerial Committee on the Civil Service Reforms. Yayale was appointed Head of Civil Service (chief civil servant) of Nigeria on December 18, 2000, by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who described Yayale as “Mr Civil Servant. President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua appointed him as the Defence Minister the 26, July 2007, because of his hard Work and dedication to duty, he was appointment On September 8, 2008, by President Umaru Yar’Adua as the Secretary to The Government of The Federation replacing Alhaji Babagana Kingibe.
Yayale is married with Children. He speaks Hausa, Fulani, and English. He is a giant charismatic, respectable figure in the in Nigeria and beyond.
Alhaji Mahmud Yayale accept the appointment as part of his duty in serving the country and thanked the forum for chosen him in leading this hard task, he also advice the members to be dedicated, patriotic, sincere and love one another in order to achieved the aims and objectives of the forum, and pray Allah to guide, help and accept our good deeds.
