1. EDO MARITIME CLUB CELEBRATE NEW FESTIVAL IN GRAND STYL

Edo indigens in the maritime sector gathered together yesterday 10th February   in Lagos  to celebrate the new year  festival.

The colourful event which  took place at cynergy Suites Royale along lekki Ajah expressway attracted dignitaries in the maritime sector, most especially personalities from Edo state.


In his welcome address, the National president of the club ,who is also the chief executive officer of Movile Nigeria Limited, High Chief Victor Ozigbo said that Edo maritime club is not like other regular club in our society, he said the club  is duly registered with the Nigeria cooperate affairs commission, and it’s major aim is to protect the right, dignity and interest of her members in and outside the maritime sector of the nations economy.

High Chief Victor Ozigbo said  the club intend to achieve the above  through a closer working and relationship with other relevant stakeholders in the industry.
“Not withstanding the economic downturn that has bedevil our dear country Nigeria, Edo maritime club has been able to weather the storm together and remain one strong entity by keeping the flag flying

He said the  club organizes seminars and retreat for members to remain  better than before.

In view of the organize nature of our club, a number of party aspirants  of different political beliefs has approach us as stakeholders in the maritime sector and solicited for our support in various elections,, which at the end they all won” he said
Ozigbo also added that the association believe in philanthropic activities which is also one of their core value. The well being of the less privilege and the homeless in the society as well as members of their association who are in great need for assistance is Germaine.

He concluded by appealing to the federal government to look into the problems facing workers in the maritime industry ,
“Our port access roads are totally bad, and truck drivers are taking advantage of this by increasing their fare,  things are no longer  the way it use to be in the port, the government should act fast as the the ease of doing business in the maritime sector is no longer there ” he said.

Also speaking at the event the patron High chief Anthony Osilama izuagbe called on all Edo indigens practicing in the maritime
Sector to come together as one united family to enable them assist one another.
Chief Anthony added that the reason for celebrating the new year festival in February is to bring in new ideas and plans on how to move the association forward to another level .

The welfare officer of the association Deaconess Kate Oghagbon expressed grattitude to God for keeping the members strong in unity,
“Am so happy we are progressing, Edo maritime club is one unique club,we are so concerned about our members and thier welfare and any Edo indigen in the maritime sector that is yet to come on board is missing greatly “she said

  • In his closing remark,the Chief patron of the association Elder Famous Enearu(CEO Famous Motors), urged members to continue to dwell in the spirit of oneness as its a major key to growth in any association, he also promise to always show full support to the activities of the association.He thanked all for coming and also wished them well as they journey back home.

    A Man with a heart of of giving ,a man full of Empathy, Edo maritime club has Greatly Benefited from his Generosity as he in 2017 organised a three day retreat for members of the association in Edo state, just to make sure all members of the association gets full knowledge of the Maritime sector where they operate .
    He has also provided job opportunities for youths of Edo state as well as none indigens
