The political atmosphere of Ondo State keeps getting interesting as the election day draws nearer.
A new entrant to the scene is a former commissioner for Agriculture, former commissioner for works and Housing in Odo State, Hon. Olanrewaju Kazeem from the same Northern Senatorial District with the Incumbent Gov. ROTIMI Akeredolu.
Information from the Unity Forum of the All Progressive Congress made us believe that Kazeem Olanrewaju is favoured by the group led by the former deputy Gov of the State, Alhaji Ali Olanusi.
The source told our reporter that a popular woman Politician from the southern Senatorial District is being pencilled down as his likely running mate if the interested parties at central Senatorial District fail to reach a consensus decision.
Meanwhile, rising from their meeting on Saturday in Akure, a group of Akoko Elites with membership drawn from all the four Local Governments in Akoko and Ose Local Governments urged the Akoko sons and daughters to please join hands to bring back the power to Akoko land by supporting Alhaji AbdulRasheed Olanrewaju Kazeem to emerge as the next governor of Ondo State.
According to the group “the reason for the choice of Kazeem Olanrewaju
was informed by his wealth of experience in governance since 1984 and his love for Akoko land and her neighbors like Ose and Owo.”
The group also reviewed the education and public lives of other aspirants from the same zone.
A member of the group who was present at the meeting, Prince Debo Ajaguna refered group members and general public to the profile of Kazeem Olanrewaju for giant participations in Community development Projects.
He said “we should be very reasonable in our choice this time around.”

Hon.(Barrister) AbdulRasheed Olanrewaju kazeem was born to the Noble family of late Pa Kazeem of Igbede Quarters Ikare Akoko in Ondo North Senatorial District of Ondo State, precisely on the 11th of March, 1957.
As young boy and son of a farmer from a rural settlement, he started his elementary education at
the Ansar-Ud- Deen Primary School III, Ikare Akoko.
After his primary school education, Olanrewaju proceeded to the Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Ikare Akoko and passed out in June 1975
In his determination to be the best among his mates, he re-enrolled for his WAEC exam in the year 1977 at the
Methodist High School, Owo as an external candidate.
In his quest to have a great career in life Olanrewaju Kazeem got admission to study law in far away University Of Maiduguri and graduated in year 1983 and by October same year he got enrolled at the Nigeria Law School, Victoria Island Lagos for the one year law training 1983-1984.
In a bid to search for more knowledge, young Barrister AbdulRasheed Olanrewaju Kazeem returned to the classroom at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba, Akoko, for a Masters degree Programme In Environmental management between the year 2000 and 2001.

Alhaji AbdulRasheed Olanrewaju Kazeem started his working career as a teacher with St. Stephen’s Modern School Ikare Akoko, Ondo State between 1975 – 1976.
Olanrewaju Kazeem joined Ministry of Agric and Natural Resources, Ondo State as Produce Inspector in 1977-1978
Olanrewaju’s boldness and interest in Politics is however not by accident as he gained a lot of experience in leadership and governance when he was a Youth Corper with the Headquarters of the Nigeria Army Military Police between1984 to1985.
Upon the completion of his youth service to his father land, he went into Private Legal Practice.
Olanrewaju Kazeem fondly Lawyer Kazeem ventured in to Politics and became a member of Federal House of Representatives in the year 1985-1992.
In recognition of his administrative prudence, he was appointed Director Ondo State Road Maintenance and Construction Company Limited, ROMACO from 1992-1993
As a brilliant legal practitioner, it was not difficult for him gaining recognition within the government circle, thus he was made a Commissioner with Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission from 1995 to 1996.
At the return of democracy in 1999, Honourable Kazeem Olanrewaju became Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Lands and Housing between1999 and 2002. He was also a Commissioner in the Ministry of Agriculture And Rural Development from 2002 to 2003 . He was made Hon. Commissioner Overseeing Ministry Of Natural Resources alongside his main assignment.
As a result of his loyalty and sincerity to his boss, Governor Adedayo Adefarati at the formation of Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, OSOPADEC in 2002 he was appointed a member from 2002-2003.
He also served as a Member, National Cocoa Development Council between 2002-2003.
In 2013 Hon.Kazeem was appointed a Commissioner at the Ondo State Judicial Service commission where he served till 2017.
Honourable Kazeem Olanrewaju is currently The bChairman, National Anti-Doping Committee of Nigeria. The office he has been holding since 2018.
