He died after a brief illness arising from complications pneumonia at Nizamieye Turkish hospital, Abuja in the early hours of Friday.
Imam Imam studied journalism at Kaduna Polytechnic. He began his journalism career at New Nigerian Newspaper. He later joined Thisday where he rose to the position of Group Political Editor.
He served as Special Adviser on Media to a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, between 2011 and 2015.
Until his death, Malam Imam was the Special Adviser on Media to Sokoto State governor.
He is survived by two wives and four children.
Family sources said the Janaza prayer for the deceased will hold at 2pm at Annur Mosque, Abuja.
