A new twist was at the weekend added to the Offa robbery saga as an Ilorin High Court summoned the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to appear before it on the 1st of August to justify the continued detention of Lekan Alabi, Personal Assistant to the Kwara state Governor Abdulfattah Ahmed, arrested over the April 5, 2018 armed robbery in Offa.

Lead counsel to the suspect, Adelodun Ibrahim, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) also bemoaned the continued detention of another suspect, Alhaji Babatunde Abdul Wahab, the Chief of Staff to the governor, over the same incident. Abdul Wahab was granted bail by another judge but was not released.
