The Commissioner of Investment, Commerce and Industry in Niger State, Dr. Mustapha Jibril, yesterday visited Hydropolis Investments Limited, an Abuja-based firm, towards partnership and actualization of the Amfani Industrial Park and Residential Estate Project.
The move is part of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello’s quest to endear Niger State to both local and foreign investors.
Dr. Jibril, was accompanied by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Hussaini Ahmed; Director, Investment, Mallam Abubakar Sadiq; and his Deputy, Mr. Attahiru Bako.
The proposed industrial park and residential estate is situated on a land of about 2,000 hectares, at the Eastern Bank of Kainji Lake, in Amfani.
According to the Commissioner, the Governor Sani Bello-led administration is committed to creating an enabling environment that will aid the thriving of manufacturing, real estate, tourism and hospitality, mining, education, health, agro-allied businesses activities, and above all, smart infrastructure that will ensure the success of the project.
“It is a project to be implemented in accordance with the fourth industrial revolution concept, machine to machine business, artificial intelligence and sustainable development goal number 9,” he said.
Dr. Jibril, said the most interesting aspect of the ‘unique project’ is the creation of a world-class economic zone that will meet best global standards.
He added: “It will also provide local and foreign investors with the best business environment to operate, while also fast tracking the industrialization and socio-economic development of Niger State and Nigeria at large.
Aside that, it will help to create employment opportunities, wealth and skills acquisition. It will also facilitate technology transfer and development of high-tech industries. Again, it will provide a platform for the utilization of Niger State and Nigeria’s abundant natural and human resources.
