The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has set up a committee on palliative to cushion the difficulties citizens of the state may face as a result of the proposed partial lockdown of the state.
At the stakeholders update and review meeting conducted at the Command Guest House Bauchi, the governor said the committee will be headed by the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu.
Governor Bala Mohammed explained that, the proposed partial lockdown is to enable the government manage and control the spread of the virus.
According to him, stakeholders at the meeting have given mandate to the state government to take any action that will assist in curbing the spread of coronovirus.
” I welcome you to this stakeholders meeting, we called you to discuss on way forward on tackling the spread of coronovirus in our state, on our part as a government, we have taken steps to ensure we curb the spread of the virus through various initiatives.
” Government is ready to purchase palliative, in Bauchi we have already established a very sound administrative framework for contact tracing on COVID-19.
He said the state government with the support of the Northeast Development Commission is expected to soon get its testing center for the management of the virus.
The State Deputy Governor who is the Chairman of the Task Force, Senator Baba Tela while highlighting some of the achievements recorded by the committee towards curbing the spread of the virus and donation of 10 million naira from Bank of Industry.
