The Greater Eagle Hall, Ado Ekiti, capital of Ekiti state, was filled to capacity with delegates and election officials. The situation was tensed up but friendly unlike the last Saturday APC primaries, the delegates appeared in uniform (aso ebi)
Earlier senator Olujinmi step down for Chief Adeyeye, thereby setting the stage for Chief Dayo Adeyeye former minister of State for works and Kolapo Olusola Eleka the incumbent deputy governor, as the two aspirants seeking the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the July 14 governorship election.

However Professor Olusola Eleka, remain the preferred aspirant of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state.

A total of 1968 delegates was accredited for the exercise,

Voting ended at 5:05pm and the committee chaired by Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta state, gave the aspirants the opportunity to comment about the poll and they both expressed satisfaction.

 PROF KOLAPO OLUSOLA  polled 1,191

PRINCE ADEDAYO ADEYEYE  770 votes while 

void – 7. Margin – 421 votes
