COVID-19: Sanwo-olu pardons 209 prison inmates. By Saheed Badmus



Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu has granted State pardon to 209 prison inmates to decongest correctional centres across the state.

This is also part measures to check the spread of Coronavirus pandemic in the states.

Governor Sanwo-olu stated this on Saturday in Lagos in a live briefing over the Coronavirus pandemic and the efforts of the state government to curtailing the spread of the scourge.

According to the governor Sanwo-olu, the beneficiaries of this state pardon include those above 60 years of age, people with disabilities and those who have less than 6 months to serve in prison.

Those with minor cases will also be considered for pardon.
