President Muhammadu Buhari today departed Cross River State, for Jos, Plateau State to personally assess the security situation and condole with the victims of the recent killings,
The President who was in Calabar, Cross River State to commission Automated Rice Seed and Seedling Factory, hurriedly left Calabar through Margaret Ekpo International Airport, for Jos, Plateau State.
Plateau State had witnessed mass killings over the weekend, as 11 villages were sacked by persons suspected to be herdsmen.
According to a tweet by one of his media aides “President Buhari is enroute to Plateau State to personally assess the security situation and condole with the victims of the recent killings, as well as reaffirm the Federal Government’s total commitment to peace and justice.
The President will also meet with community leaders and other stakeholders to reaffirm federal government’s effort to find a lasting solution to the crisis across the country.
Recall that VP Professor Yemi Osibanjo was in the state earlier on a similar mission.
